In this webinar, Michelle Sioson Hyman of Raising A Reader discussed the organization’s theory of change and the philosophy behind their commitment to partnership with other national organizations before sharing information about their exciting summer initiative, Super Summer Learning Adventures.
Hyman then moderated a conversation with leaders of the organizations engaged in Super Summer Learning Adventures, including Karen Harrison of Save the Children; Saurabh Kamalapurkar of Guardians Collective; Malcolm Mitchell of Share the Magic Foundation, a Super Bowl Champion, Author and Literacy Advocate; Mary-Alice Moore of Highlights for Children; and Kristen Walter of Worldreader. The panelists provided a brief overview of their organizations and described how they are contributing to the partnership. They then had a wide-ranging conversation about how the multiple pandemics of COVID-19 and racism have impacted how they think about partnership, how those partnerships help their organizations serve children and families better, the importance of sparking joy and fun around reading and recommendations for other organizations thinking about partnering with others.
