Dr. Terry K. Peterson is the only person in America who has served eight years as the chief education deputy for a governor and also for the United States Secretary of Education. Dr. Peterson was the architect of a statewide education improvement package that boosted reading and math performance 20 percent over seven years and had the highest teacher ratings of the reforms among all the states. In addition, he has worked in many countries from Brazil to South Korea and from Mongolia to Australia.
He currently is the Education Consultant to the CS Mott Foundation and Senior Fellow for the Riley Institute at Furman University. He co-chairs the Afterschool Alliance, and chairs the national White Riley Peterson Afterschool Leadership Fellowship.
