Dr. Dawson-McClure is a psychologist and prevention scientist focused on the development, evaluation and large-scale implementation of community and school-based strategies to reduce racial, ethnic and socio-economic disparities in children’s health and development. She has particular expertise in family engagement and parenting and is committed to centering the voices of families of color in all aspects of her work. She currently leads research on scaling ParentCorps, an evidence-based enhancement to Pre-K, which bolsters parent and teacher capacity to support children’s development in the face of early childhood adversity, including racism, poverty, discrimination and immigration-related stress.
