Lee Savio Beers, MD, FAAP is a Professor of Pediatrics and the Medical Director for Community Health and Advocacy at Children’s National Hospital, and the A. James & Alice B. Clark Distinguished Professor of Early Childhood Intervention and Advocacy. She is also the Medical Director for Behavioral Health Initiatives for the Pediatric Health Network in Washington DC. Dr Beers oversees the Child Health Advocacy Institute’s Community Mental Health CORE, which includes initiatives such as the Early Childhood Innovation Network and serves as a catalyst to elevate the standard of mental health care for every young person in Washington DC. She was the 2021 President of the American Academy of Pediatrics and received the 2019 Public Policy and Advocacy Award from the Academic Pediatric Association. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Zero to Three.
