Kayla Reist is a research consultant at the non-profit Albert Shanker Institute in Washington, D.C. She recently graduated from the Educational Transformation program at Georgetown University after spending nine years in the classroom as a high school English teacher. She is interested in teacher working conditions, teacher burnout, and teacher collaboration. In the fall, she will start a Ph.D. program at the University of Virginia in Curriculum and Instruction.
