Hattie works as a Consultant with the Learning and Engagement Opportunities team at the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. In her role, she works as content lead on the GLR Learning Tuesdays webinar series. Hattie holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Kansas in Hispanic Literatures, and until recently taught Spanish language, literature, and culture classes as a lecturer at KU. She has more than 9 years of teaching experience at the university level, both in the US and Spain. She recently joined the KantArt photo gallery as translator and interpreter. In addition to past translation and interpretation work, Hattie worked as paralegal for the Domestic Violence unit at Legal Aid of Western Missouri, aiding to provide bilingual legal services to low-income folks experiencing domestic abuse.
