Chanda Johnson is a Partner Success Director at Zearn. Chanda is committed to ensuring that all children
have the opportunity to succeed and to love mathematics. Prior to joining Zearn, Chanda served in various
roles at the Louisiana Department of Education, most recently as the Deputy Assistant Superintendent of
Academic Content.
Chanda began her career as a secondary mathematics and English teacher in Louisiana. After over a decade
in the classroom, Chanda went on to the Louisiana Department of Education where she served as a network
coach, a math specialist, a project lead for assessment projects including Louisiana’s innovative assessment
pilot, a chief of staff, and the lead of the Academic Content team. As Louisiana’s academic lead, Chanda led
Louisiana’s instructional materials review process and ensured that the majority of students in Louisiana were
using high quality instructional materials each day. Chanda has also served as a senior specialist at EdReports
where she continued to focus on ensuring that all students have access to high quality instructional materials.
Chanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a master’s degree in Curriculum from the
University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Chanda currently lives outside of Baton Rouge with her husband and two
sons.
