Dr. Caitlin McLean has over a decade of research experience in early care and education systems and policy. As Director of Multi-State and International Programs at the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment, UC-Berkeley, she leads cross-state early care and education (ECE) workforce policy projects, such as the biennial Early Childhood Workforce Index, as well as related research on ECE compensation initiatives and workforce data. She also provides and oversees technical assistance to state-level stakeholders looking to improve their policies to support early educators. Dr. McLean holds a Ph.D. in Social Policy from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
