Bonita Allen

Bonita Allen is a Parent Involvement in Education (PIE) consultant with the Pennsylvania Department of Education Division of Federal Programs and serves as a mentor for emerging parent leaders including the Title I State Parent Advisory Council (SPAC). She is also the immediate past President of the Pennsylvania PTA. Ms. Allen has over 25 years of professional parent and family engagement experience and presents at conferences statewide and nationally. As a PIE consultant, Ms. Allen visits school districts to deliver free site-based training and technical assistance to administrators, teachers, parents and families emphasizing the importance of working together to help children succeed and sharing strategies to rally family-school-community partnerships. Ms. Allen received her A.B. from Harvard University and has completed all requirements except the dissertation for a Doctorate in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She currently serves as a member of the board of the Education Policy and Leadership Center (EPLC), and the Pennsylvania Humanities Council (PHC).
