As the program director of CCSSO’s COVID Relief Data Project, Austin Estes leads a nationwide initiative to study and tell the story of how states are using their 10% Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) reserve. Through this project, CCSSO aims to identify trends and promising practices related to the K-12 response to the COVID19 pandemic. Before coming to CCSSO, Austin worked at Advance CTE, where he supported states to improve equitable access to high-quality Career Technical Education, and at the Flamboyan Foundation, where he supported data analysis and research projects for the foundation’s family engagement programs. Austin Estes holds a Master of Public Policy from American University and a BA in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University.
