Arlene is an experienced literacy specialist. She is currently working at AIM Institute as an Integrated Literacy Facilitator. She began her career as a middle school and high school English teacher in DC, eventually becoming the K-12 Literacy Director at a school for students with Language-Based Learning Differences. Her varied experiences in classrooms and board rooms where educational decisions are made have made her even more passionate about ensuring all students have access to high-quality literacy instruction. Her current work at AIM revolves around developing teacher and leader knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction so all students learn to read.
