Alissa Hobart is the Director of the Mississippi Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. Prior to this role, Alissa was an elementary school teacher and served as a literacy coach with the Mississippi Department of Education. Alissa is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and began her teaching career as a Teach of AmericaCorps Member in Mississippi. She completed her master’s degree in Elementary Education from Delta State University. She has presented professional development for schools, districts, and at the Mississippi Literacy Association Conference. Alissa also serves on the Region 7 Comprehensive Center Advisory Board.
Outside of work, Alissa finds joy in reading, baking, and spending time with her husband and their two rescue dogs.
